Resthaven depends upon many people, but none are more important than our volunteers. Volunteers fill many important roles throughout Resthaven's facilities. To follow is a partial list of volunteer positions currently available.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

  • Water Passers: Deliver fresh water to residents at the Care Center-needed mornings and afternoons 1 hour each day. Fill and pass water to all residents. Needed 1st and 2nd shift.

  • Seamstress: Need volunteers to sew walker bags for our residents. Great at home activity.
  • Pastors and Pianist: Several - Lead residents in worship.
  • Adopt-A-Grandparent: Needs - unlimited : Great opportunity for daycare providers, classrooms, families who are far from grandparents, anyone!
  • Aide for Evening Star Program: Needs - 1-2 daily - Monday-Friday, 4-5 pm, assist Activities Department with this program.
  • Entertainment: Evening Meal - instrumental or vocal, need not be professional-students welcome!
  • Beauty Shop Assistant: Take out rollers and transport residents.
  • Exercise Leader: 1 needed - 2-3 times/week, lead exercises to an audiocassette tape.
  • Play games and socialize: 6-7 pm any evening
  • Birthday Party Assistant: Assist our Activity Director with our Monthly Birthday Parties.
  • Bus Driver: Needed weekdays. 8:00 pm-4:30 pm. We will train the right person.  No special license required.
  • Mail Delivery: Various afternoons, approximately 1 hour.
  • Bingo Assistant: Monday and Friday afternoons, assist residents with Bingo.

  • One on One Visitor: You chose your hours. Make a new friend
  • Activities Assistant: Many Needed - Volunteers to assist our activities department with various activities.
  • Pampering: assist our activity staff with filing and painting resident's fingernails.  Needed at the Care Center every Wednesday from 10:15-11am.
  • Popcorn: Sell popcorn to staff and guests, pass out to residents on Thursday afternoons.
  • Receptionist: Front Desk duties, answer phones, greet families and guests, help office staff with mailings and miscellaneous paper work.
  • Adopt a Flower Bed: Fun Family Project!!! Water and weed our flowerbeds through the summer.
