ENCORE! Lakeshore Award Winners 2009 Today, thousands of people in the second half of life have opened up new chapters of creativity, productivity, and leadership, and in the process have transformed our communities and our country. They prove to all of us that aging can be a time of continuing growth and contribution to others. Our older adults represent an extraordinary collection of social and human capital. We wish to celebrate these inspiring individuals who live in the Holland/Zeeland area with an ENCORE! Lakeshore Award. Although we had an incredible pool of nominees, we were able to select seven wonderful folks who refuse to retire from life. These Seven Over Seventy were formally recognized at a Gala Event on October 15, 2009, at Macatawa Legends, and have been invited to go “on tour” of our area sharing their stories with churches, clubs, and other groups over the upcoming year. |
