Resident & Family Satisfaction Levels For the Resthaven Care Center, Good Shepherd Home, and Vern & Lois Boersma Cottage
Because we truly care about you and your family, we participate in a yearly assessment that measures our health outcomes, employee satisfaction, and resident and family satisfaction.
This assessment is very carefully performed by the national organization My InnerView, which specializes in measuring results in the area of long-term care. Learn more about this organization at www.myinnerview.com.
Although our results place us in the top 10% in the country, we continue to refine our quality improvements. Improvements developed by Resthaven Learning Circles, based on the survey information, have been incorporated into our strategic plan for 2009 and 2010.
We echo the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging’s statement: Our commitment is to create the future of aging services through quality people can trust.

Resident Satisfaction Here are the results of our most recent survey of residents (or a representative from their family), performed in August of 2008:

The Resthaven Care Center ranks in the top 10% of the country when compared to roughly 3,500 other facilities that are classified as “nursing homes.” This includes results from the Care Center’s Main Building, the Good Shepherd Home, and the Vern & Lois Boersma Cottage.

97% of our residents or their family members are satisfied overall with our services.

94% of our residents or their family members are willing to recommend the Resthaven Care Center to others. This is a tough measure of our success as people are more hesitant to put their own reputation on the line to recommend services to others.
Employee Satisfaction Research has shown that in the area of long-term care for older adults, if the caregivers are happy, so are residents and their families. Since employees see what happens behind the scenes, our community finds this information of great value. Here are the results for 2008:

93% of our staff members would recommend the Resthaven Care Center to others for care. Compare that to the national peer group average of 74%.

86% of staff members are satisfied with their jobs overall. Compare that to the national peer group average of 65%.

88% would recommend to others to work at the Resthaven Care Center. Compare that to the national peer group average of 67%.
